The kit is printed using high detail resin in the UK and the sale is for the chassis, body and sundry dress up items only. It comes unpainted and supplied without the Tenshodo chassis which is shown here for information only. I suggest the WB-36 with 10.5mm wheels.
The first few pictures shows the kit painted so you can see how good the finish is.

FAQ – Product FAQs
Product FAQs
What exactly is this kit?
This is a high-detail resin kit of a diesel loco based on a Simplex caravan locomotive, designed for GN15 layouts, workyards and industrial estates. It provides the resin chassis, body and dress-up items for you to assemble, prime and paint yourself.
What scale and track is this suitable for?
The kit is intended for GN15, which is basically narrow gauge G-scale, modelled at 1:22.5 scale and running on 16.5Â mm gauge track.
What parts are included with my order?
Your order includes:
- Chassis suitable for a Tenshodo Spud or Hanazono power unit (36Â mm wheelbase with 10.5Â mm wheels suggested)
- Simplex caravan body
- Seat base and tractor seat
- Engine cover
- Fan and fan shroud
- Radiator
- Roof and 2 x 70Â mm brass supports
- 4 x 10Â mm pegs
- 2 x coupling blocks
- Driver figure
All parts are supplied unassembled where needed, unprimed and unpainted.
Is a motorised chassis included?
No, a motorised chassis is not included. The Tenshodo chassis shown in some photos is for information only. A Tenshodo WB-36 with 10.5Â mm wheels (or a similar Hanazono unit) is suggested to power the model.
What material and colour are the parts?
All pieces are 3D printed in high-detail resin and supplied in grey. They are cleaned, cured and have supports removed by hand before packing.
Are the parts ready to paint straight away?
Yes. The parts are supplied ready for you to prime and paint. You may wish to do some very light sanding where fine support marks remain, but no heavy cleanup should be necessary.
Troubleshooting FAQs
Some parts have faint lines or marks. Is this normal?
Yes. With high-detail resin printing, a few fine support marks or subtle lines can remain even after cleanup. These can usually be removed with gentle sanding or scraping before you apply primer.
A part arrived broken in the post. What should I do?
If something has clearly broken in transit, please take clear photos of the damaged part and the packaging, then contact the seller through the platform where you bought the kit. With images, they can see what has happened and what can be done to help.
I broke a piece after it arrived. Can it be replaced?
Resin can be quite delicate, and the seller cannot be held responsible for breakages once the parcel has arrived. However, it is still worth getting in touch with photos, as they may be able to suggest repair methods or discuss possible options.
My power unit does not seem to fit the chassis properly. Any advice?
The chassis is designed for a Tenshodo Spud or Hanazono unit, with a preference for a 36Â mm wheelbase and 10.5Â mm diameter wheels. If your chosen unit differs from this, you may need to carefully adjust or pack the mounting area so the motor unit sits level and runs freely, taking care not to stress the resin.
The loco feels light and slips when running. How can I add weight?
The engine cover has room specifically intended for lead shot or products such as Liquid Gravity. Adding weight inside this area, secured with a suitable adhesive, will improve traction without altering the external appearance.
Assembly & Painting FAQs
What glue should I use to assemble the kit?
Superglue works very well for a strong, permanent bond between the resin components. For a less permanent solution, you can use PVA or Roket glue on suitable joints. Always dry-fit parts before gluing.
Do I need to do any preparation before priming?
Yes. Check each part for any remaining support marks or slight surface imperfections and gently sand or scrape them smooth. Make sure the parts are clean and free of dust or fingerprints before applying primer.
What kind of primer and paint should I use?
The kit is supplied ready for you to prime and paint. Use a primer suitable for resin or plastic models, applied in light coats. Once primed, most hobby acrylic or enamel paints designed for miniatures or model railways will work well, following the paint manufacturer’s instructions.
Any tips for fitting the finer details?
Small parts such as the fan, fan shroud, radiator, brass roof supports and coupling blocks benefit from careful handling. Test-fit them first, use tweezers if helpful, and apply only small amounts of glue to avoid excess on visible surfaces.
When should I install the driver and interior details?
Many modellers find it easiest to test-fit the interior, then paint the main body shell and interior parts separately. Once the paint is fully dry, you can glue in the seat, driver and other dress-up items, then add any final touch-ups and weathering to tie everything together.
