Is the figure suitable for use in a locomotive cab and in the yard?

Yes, this figure is designed to work well as a driver either mounted in a cab or posed standing around in the yard, thanks to its realistic, 3D-scanned pose.

How is the figure produced?

The figure is created from a 3D scan of a real person to capture realistic proportions and posture, then printed in the UK using high-detail resin and cleaned and cured by hand.

Is the figure supplied painted?

No, the figure is supplied unpainted so you can finish it to match your own railway, era and colour scheme.

What kind of packaging is used?

We use eco-friendly packaging. The outer packaging is made in part from recycled materials and is fully recyclable, while the internal packing materials are acid-free and made from 99% recycled pulp fibres.

Is this product suitable for children?

No, this figure is not a toy and is not suitable for minors. It contains small parts and can pose a choking hazard.

What should I do if my figure arrives broken in the post?

If your figure is damaged during delivery, please take clear photos of the packaging and the broken parts and contact us. We will review the images and see what we can do to help put things right.

Are you responsible if I break the figure after it arrives?

Resin can be quite delicate, and we cannot be held responsible for breakages that occur after the item has arrived safely. Please handle the figure carefully and avoid dropping it.

My figure has small surface marks or lines – is this normal?

Minor surface artefacts can occur with high-detail resin printing. All items are cleaned and cured by hand, but you may find a few small areas that benefit from a light tidy-up before priming and painting.

The figure does not seem to stand securely – what can I do?

Because this is a finely detailed resin figure, you may need to slightly adjust or carefully level the base area. Many modellers also choose to pin or glue the feet to a small base or directly to the layout for extra stability.

What if the figure does not quite fit in my cab?

Cab dimensions can vary between different G-scale models. If the fit is tight, you may carefully remove a small amount of material from non-visible areas, such as the soles of the boots or the inside of the cab, to help the figure sit or stand correctly.

Can I bend or reposition the figure?

The figure is printed in rigid resin and is not designed to be bent. Trying to reposition arms, legs or the torso by force is likely to snap the part, so it is best to use the pose as supplied.

What primer do you recommend for this figure?

The figure can be primed with Halfords grey primer or Tamiya Fine Surface Primer, both of which work well on high-detail resin and provide a good base for painting.

Do I need to do any preparation before priming?

Usually only minimal preparation is needed. You may wish to:

• Inspect the figure for any tiny nubs or print artefacts and carefully remove them.
• Very lightly sand any rough spots with fine abrasive if required.
• Ensure the figure is free from dust before applying primer.

What type of paints can I use after priming?

Once primed with a suitable model primer such as Halfords grey or Tamiya Fine Surface Primer, you can use your preferred model paints for finishing. Choose paints that are compatible with your chosen primer.

Do I need to assemble any parts, or is it a single piece?

This product is supplied as a single driver figure. There is no separate assembly described for this model, but you may choose to attach it to a base, footplate or cab interior on your own layout.

Any tips for painting realistic clothing and details?

Because the figure is 3D scanned from a real person, the folds and details are well defined. Many modellers find it helpful to:

• Start with a mid-tone base colour for clothing.
• Add darker washes into folds to bring out depth.
• Finish with lighter highlights on raised areas such as creases and edges.

Can I use this figure outdoors on a garden railway?

The figure is G-scale and well suited visually to garden railways, but long-term outdoor durability will depend on your choice of primer, paint and protective clear coat. Ensure all surfaces are well sealed and protected if you plan to use it outside.
