Product details

These figures are 3d scanned from real people to get both realistic looks and poses!

This unpainted figure is suitable as a Health and safety inspector with his clipboard to log your modelling violations or perhaps as a delivery man with a new Loco order. He is approx 75mm tall and is in G-Scale 1:22.5

(same as the scale of LGB/Bachmann etc.)

The model is printed here in the UK  using high detail resin. The model is supplied unpainted and can be primered with halfords grey primer or tamiya fine surface primer and finished with acrylic paints.

All items are cleaned and cured by hand, and the figures may require some minor finishing if needed before painting. The condition is new and they are dispatched by Royal Mail 2nd class.

Our packaging is Eco friendly, the exterior packing is made in part from Recycled Materials and is fully recyclable, the interior packing materials are acid free and made from 99% recycled pulp fibres.

Please do bear in mind that resin can be quite delicate so try to avoid dropping your parts! Sadly, we cant be held responsible for breakages once your item has arrived. However, if the piece is broken in the post, please provide images and we will see what we can do to help to make things good.

Needless to say these items are not toys and are not suitable for minors as they could be a choking hazard because of small parts.

FAQ – Product FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is this figure?

This is an unpainted, high-detail resin figure 3D scanned from a real person to capture realistic looks and natural poses. It is designed to work well as a health and safety inspector with a clipboard, or as a delivery man bringing a new loco order to your layout.

What scale and size is the figure?

The figure is G-Scale 1:22.5 and is approximately 75 mm tall. This is the same scale as popular brands such as LGB and Bachmann G-scale ranges.

What material is the figure made from?

The figure is printed in high detail resin here in the UK. Resin allows for very fine surface detail, ideal for realistic model railway figures.

Is the figure supplied painted?

No, the figure is supplied unpainted. This allows you to finish it in whatever colours best match your layout or scene.

How is the figure shipped?

The figure is dispatched by Royal Mail 2nd Class. Each item is cleaned and cured by hand before packing, and then carefully packaged to help protect it in transit.

Is the packaging environmentally friendly?

Yes. The exterior packaging is made in part from recycled materials and is fully recyclable. The interior packing materials are acid-free and made from 99% recycled pulp fibres.

My figure arrived with a broken part, what should I do?

If the figure appears to have been damaged in the post, please take clear photos of the damage and the packaging and contact the seller. While they cannot be responsible for breakages after delivery, they will do their best to help make things right when damage occurs in transit.

The resin feels delicate, is that normal?

Yes, resin figures can be quite delicate, especially around thin areas like arms, fingers, or clipboards. Handle the figure carefully and avoid dropping it or applying pressure to fine details.

There are small marks or slight lines on the figure, is this a defect?

Minor surface marks or faint layer lines can be normal with high-detail resin prints. These can usually be removed or reduced with a light sand and a bit of careful finishing before priming and painting.

What if the figure looks slightly warped or bent?

A very slight bend can sometimes occur with resin pieces. In many cases this can be gently corrected before painting by carefully warming the part in lukewarm (not boiling) water and easing it back into shape, then allowing it to cool fully. Always handle slowly and cautiously to avoid snapping delicate areas.

The primer is not sticking well, what can I do?

First, make sure the figure is completely clean and dry. If needed, gently wash it in lukewarm water with a tiny amount of mild dish soap, rinse, and let it dry fully. Then apply a light mist coat of primer rather than a heavy coat, allowing it to key to the surface before adding more.

Some details seem a bit soft after priming, why?

This often happens if the primer is applied too thickly. Resin figures only need a thin, even coat. Several light passes are better than one heavy coat, which can obscure fine details like facial features or folds in clothing.

Do I need to clean the figure before priming?

All items are cleaned and cured by hand before dispatch, so in many cases you can prime straight away. However, if you prefer, you can give the figure a gentle wash in lukewarm water with a little mild detergent, rinse thoroughly, and allow it to dry completely before priming.

Which primers work best on this figure?

The figure can be primed with Halfords grey primer or Tamiya Fine Surface Primer, both of which work very well on resin. Apply in thin, even coats and allow each coat to dry before handling.

What type of paints should I use?

Acrylic paints are recommended for finishing this figure. They adhere well over a suitable primer, dry quickly, and are easy to work with for layering, washes, and highlights.

Do I need to do any finishing work before painting?

All figures are cleaned and cured by hand, but some may require minor finishing. This might include:

  • Lightly sanding small imperfections
  • Carefully removing any tiny nubs or remnants from the printing process
  • Checking for and gently smoothing any faint mould or layer lines

How should I prepare the surface for the best paint finish?

After any minor sanding or cleanup, ensure the figure is free of dust. Then:

  • Apply a thin, even coat of recommended primer
  • Allow the primer to dry thoroughly
  • Inspect the surface and lightly sand any remaining rough spots before applying colour

Can I use enamel or lacquer paints instead of acrylics?

The figure is designed to be finished with acrylic paints over a suitable primer. Other paint types may work but can be harsher on resin or more prone to obscuring detail if applied too thickly. If you do experiment, always test on a small, inconspicuous area or spare piece first.

Is this figure suitable for children?

No. These items are not toys and are not suitable for minors. The figure contains small parts and can pose a choking hazard. It is intended for adult modellers and collectors.

Who is this figure licensed from?

The figure is sold under commercial license from Design Scan Print 3D, ensuring the original 3D scan and design are used legitimately and to a high standard.
