Product details

These figures are 3d scanned from real people to get both realistic looks and poses!

This unpainted figure wields a sledgehammer. Great for fixing most things. A nice addition for a scene and would go well with our Anvil set. He is approx 73mm tall and is in G-Scale 1:22. (like the scale of LGB/Bachmann etc.)

The model is printed here in the UK  using high detail resin. The model is supplied unpainted and can be primered with Simonez grey primer or Tamiya fine surface primer.

All figures are cleaned and cured by hand, we certainly won't send them out with supports still attached. The figures may require some minor finishing if needed before painting. The condition is new and they are dispatched by Royal Mail 2nd class.

Our packaging is Eco friendly, the exterior packing is made in part from Recycled Materials and is fully recyclable, the interior packing materials are acid free and made from 99% recycled pulp fibres.

Please do bear in mind that resin can be quite delicate so try to avoid dropping your parts! Sadly, we cant be held responsible for breakages once your item has arrived. However, if the piece is broken in the post, please provide images and we will see what we can do to help to make things good.

Needless to say these items are not toys and are not suitable for minors as they could be a choking hazard because of small parts.

FAQ – Product FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What scale is this figure and how tall is it?

This figure is G-Scale 1:22, the same general scale as LGB and Bachmann garden railway stock. The model stands at approximately 73 mm tall, making it a good match for typical G-scale layouts and dioramas.

What is the figure holding and what kind of scene does it suit?

The figure is wielding a sledgehammer, so it works perfectly in workshop, maintenance, trackside repair, or industrial scenes. It also pairs nicely with our Anvil set for a blacksmith or engineering vignette.

Is the figure supplied painted or unpainted?

The figure is supplied unpainted. It arrives as a bare, high-detail resin print ready for you to prime and paint in your own style.

How is the figure produced?

The figure is 3D scanned from a real person to capture realistic proportions and a natural pose. It is then printed here in the UK using high-detail resin, cleaned and cured by hand before dispatch.

Are supports still attached when I receive the figure?

No. We remove the supports, clean, and cure each figure by hand. You will not receive a model with supports still attached, though some very minor finishing may still be useful before painting.

How is the item shipped and in what condition?

The figure is supplied new and dispatched by Royal Mail 2nd Class. It is carefully packed to protect the resin during transit.

Is your packaging environmentally friendly?

Yes. Our packaging is eco friendly:

  • The exterior packaging is made in part from recycled materials and is fully recyclable.
  • The interior packing materials are acid free and made from 99% recycled pulp fibres.

Is this figure suitable for children?

No. These items are not toys and are not suitable for minors. They can present a choking hazard due to small parts and are intended for adult hobbyists and collectors.

Can I use this figure with other G-scale brands?

Yes. The figure is in G-Scale 1:22, which is compatible with popular G-scale brands such as LGB and Bachmann, making it a good fit for most garden railway and large-scale layouts.

Is the design licensed?

Yes. This figure is sold under commercial license from Design Scan Print 3D, ensuring the design is used and supplied legitimately.

Is the resin figure fragile?

Resin can be quite delicate, especially around finer details. It is best to handle the figure carefully and avoid dropping it or subjecting it to heavy knocks.

What should I do if the figure arrives broken?

If the piece is damaged in the post, please take clear photos of the damage and the packaging and contact us. We cannot be responsible for breakages after safe delivery, but if it is broken in transit we will do our best to help make things right.

Why are there small marks or lines on the figure?

Minor surface marks or faint layer lines can occur with detailed resin printing and support removal. These are usually easy to tidy up with light sanding or scraping before priming.

What if the figure does not stand or fit my scene perfectly?

Because the figure is resin, you can usually make small adjustments to your base or scenery to help it sit correctly. If needed, gentle sanding of the feet or a small pin in one foot and into the base can provide extra stability.

Can I bend or reshape parts of the figure?

We do not recommend bending resin parts, as resin is not flexible and may snap. If you must attempt a small adjustment, do so with extreme care and at your own risk, and only after fully supporting the area you are working on.

What if there are tiny bits of resin still attached?

Although we remove supports by hand, you may occasionally find a tiny nub or tag where a support was attached. These can be carefully trimmed with a sharp hobby knife and then smoothed with fine sandpaper before priming.

Do I need to wash the figure before painting?

The figures are cleaned and cured by hand, but many painters still like to give resin models a quick wash in lukewarm water with a drop of mild detergent, then let them dry fully. This can help ensure the best adhesion for your primer.

What primer should I use?

The figure can be primed with:

  • Simonez grey primer
  • Tamiya fine surface primer

Both give a good key for acrylic paints and help bring out the fine details before you start painting.

What type of paints work best on this figure?

Once primed, the figure will take most hobby paints well. Many modellers prefer water-based acrylics for ease of use, quick drying, and simple clean-up, especially when working around delicate details.

Do I need to do any sanding or filling before painting?

Most figures will only need minor finishing, if any. If you spot a small seam, support nub, or tiny surface imperfection, you can:

  • Lightly sand with fine-grit sandpaper or sanding sticks.
  • Use a small amount of hobby filler for any tiny pits or gaps.

Always re-prime any areas you have sanded or filled.

How should I handle the figure while painting?

Because resin can be delicate, it helps to mount the figure on a temporary holder, such as a painting handle or a block of wood with a bit of double-sided tape or a pin in the foot. This keeps your fingers off the details and reduces the risk of dropping it.

Can I glue the figure to a base or into my layout?

Yes. After painting and sealing, you can glue the figure to a base or directly into your layout using a suitable hobby glue. Many modellers use a small pin in one foot and a drop of glue for a stronger, long-lasting bond.
