Product details

This is a G Scale dumper truck, around a 3 tonne vehicle. It requires assembly and superglue will do the trick. Great addition as a scenic item not normally found. Use it for the yard or building site

The kit is printed using high detail resin in the UK and the sale is for the chassis, beds, crate, frame and buffer plate only. It also comes unpainted and supplied without the tenshodo chassis which is shown here for information only.

The picturs show it assembled and painted as well as the kit details.

Your order will come with the following great pieces :

Chassis
Dumper bucket
Engine
Steering Wheel
4 wheel hubs
4 Tyres
Seat and engine cover
Pins for gear lever
Pegs for bucket pivot

This listing is for sixteen resin printed pieces in grey, Derek the site foreman isn't included as he still has to work on getting the ballast delivered.

Finishing: All items are cleaned and cured by hand. They are unassembled (if needed). Ready for you to prime and paint.

We do our very best to remove support marks but some fine sanding may be required.

All pieces and parts come unprimed and unpainted with all supports removed. The condition is New and is dispatched by Royal Mail. Our packaging is Eco friendly, the exterior packing is made in part from Recycled Materials and is fully recyclable, the interior packing materials are acid free and made from 99% recycled pulp fibres.

Please do bear in mind that resin can be quite delicate so try to avoid dropping your parts! Sadly, we can not be held responsible for breakages once your item has arrived. However, if the piece is broken in the post, please provide images and we will see what we can do to help.

FAQ – Product FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions – G Scale Dumper Truck Resin Kit

What exactly is included in this G Scale dumper truck kit?

The kit includes sixteen high-detail grey resin parts: chassis, dumper bucket, engine, steering wheel, 4 wheel hubs, 4 tyres, seat and engine cover, pins for the gear lever, and pegs for the bucket pivot. Derek the site foreman and the tenshodo chassis shown in some photos are not included.

Is this dumper truck a working model or just a scenic item?

This is primarily designed as a scenic item for your G scale or GN15 layout, ideal for yards, building sites and industrial scenes. The listing is for the resin body kit only; it does not include a powered tenshodo chassis, so it is not supplied as a self-propelled working vehicle.

What scale is the dumper truck and how big is it in real-life terms?

The model is G Scale and represents a small dumper truck of around a 3‑tonne vehicle. It is sized to look at home on G scale layouts and also works very nicely alongside GN15 narrow gauge stock.

What material is the kit made from?

All parts are 3D printed in high-detail resin in the UK. The pieces are cleaned and UV cured by hand, with supports removed before packing. Resin captures fine detail very well but should be handled with a bit of care as it can be more delicate than injection-moulded plastic.

Does the kit come assembled or painted?

No, the dumper truck is supplied as an unassembled, unprimed and unpainted kit. You will receive the individual resin parts ready for you to test-fit, glue, prime and paint to suit your own layout and weathering style.

How is the kit packaged and shipped?

The kit is dispatched by Royal Mail in eco-friendly packaging. The outer packaging is made in part from recycled materials and is fully recyclable, and the inner packing is acid-free and made from 99% recycled pulp fibres. Each part is wrapped to minimise movement and help protect against damage in transit.

What glue should I use to assemble the dumper truck?

Superglue (cyanoacrylate) is recommended for assembling this resin kit. Apply small amounts to clean, dry mating surfaces and hold the parts in place for a short time while the glue grabs. There is no need for solvent-type plastic cement, as the parts are not styrene.

Do I need to do any sanding or cleanup before painting?

All support structures are removed and parts are cleaned and cured by hand, but you may find the odd fine support mark or slight nub. A quick tidy with fine wet-and-dry paper or small files will give the best finish before priming. Focus on flat areas and visible edges of the bucket, chassis and engine cover.

Can I use this kit with a tenshodo spud chassis?

The photos show the dumper truck with a tenshodo chassis for illustration only, and many modellers do mount it on a spud for a powered yard vehicle. However, the tenshodo chassis is not included in this listing, so you would need to source and fit one yourself if you want it to run.

Is the kit suitable for beginners in resin modelling?

If you are comfortable using superglue and doing a little light sanding, you should be fine. The parts count is modest and the shapes are straightforward. Take your time with dry-fitting and you will have a very characterful little dumper for your layout.

Is Derek the site foreman figure included?

No, Derek the site foreman is shown for fun and scale in the photos but is not part of this listing. The sale is only for the sixteen grey resin dumper truck parts described.

What should I do if my kit arrives damaged from the post?

If something has been broken in transit, please take clear photos of the damage and packaging as soon as you open it and contact the seller through the marketplace. While resin is delicate and we cannot cover accidental damage after delivery, we will always see what we can do to help with genuine postal breakages.

Some parts look slightly warped or not quite straight. How can I fix this?

A slight bend can sometimes occur with resin. Often it will be minor and disappear once glued to a straight mating surface, such as the chassis. If you are experienced with resin, gentle warming and straightening may help, but always take care not to overheat or snap the part. If a piece is badly distorted on arrival, please photograph it and get in touch.

The parts do not seem to fit together properly. Any tips?

Start by dry-fitting everything without glue to understand how the kit goes together. If a peg or pin is tight, lightly sand or scrape it rather than forcing it. Check that any tiny bits of support residue are removed from sockets and locating holes, especially around the bucket pivot pegs and gear lever pins.

My kit has small marks where supports were attached. Is this normal?

Yes, small witness marks from support removal are normal with resin printing. We do our very best to remove supports cleanly, but the odd faint mark may remain. These are easily smoothed with fine abrasive paper or a small sanding stick before priming.

What if I accidentally break a part while handling or assembling it?

Resin can be delicate, so it is important to avoid dropping parts or applying too much force. Minor breaks can often be repaired with superglue. While we cannot be responsible for accidental damage after delivery, you are always welcome to contact the seller for advice; in some cases we may be able to suggest a repair approach or replacement options.

How do I prepare the resin parts before priming and painting?

Although the parts are cleaned and cured, it is good practice to gently wash them in lukewarm water with a tiny drop of mild detergent, then rinse and let them dry thoroughly. After that, lightly sand any support marks, then apply a suitable primer for resin before moving on to your chosen top coats.

What type of primer and paint should I use?

Use a primer that is compatible with resin, such as an acrylic or enamel model primer from a rattle can or airbrush. Once primed, you can paint with your usual model paints (acrylics or enamels both work well) in thin layers. Always follow the paint manufacturer’s instructions and allow each coat to dry fully.

Do you have any suggestions for painting and weathering the dumper truck?

A small dumper really comes to life with some weathering. Many modellers like to: paint the main body in a workmanlike yellow, orange or industrial green; pick out the engine and seat in darker tones; then add dirt, rust and dried concrete effects with washes and dry-brushing. The dumper bucket in particular looks great with scuffs and worn metal along the edges.

Should I fully assemble the model before painting?

It is usually best to do a complete dry-fit first, then paint in sub-assemblies. For example, you might keep the chassis, bucket and engine/seat unit separate for easier access, then glue them together once the main colours and basic weathering are done. Small parts such as the steering wheel and gear lever pins are often easier to paint off the model and attach last.

Can I leave the model unpainted in the supplied grey resin?

You can, but resin is more vulnerable to UV light and handling marks if left unpainted. A coat of primer and paint not only improves the appearance but also helps protect the surface. Even a simple single colour with a quick wash will make the details pop and help the dumper blend naturally into your layout.
