FAQ – Product FAQs

What scale is this figure, and what systems will it fit with?

This figure is G-Scale 1:22.5 and stands at approximately 74mm tall. It is the same scale as popular large-scale systems such as LGB and Bachmann G, so it will sit naturally alongside your existing G-scale stock and scenery.

Is the figure supplied painted or unpainted?

The figure is supplied unpainted. It comes as a bare high-detail resin print, ready for you to prime and paint in your own colour scheme.

How were these figures created?

The figures are 3D scanned from real people to capture realistic proportions, clothing details, and natural poses. This gives a very lifelike appearance once painted and placed on your layout.

What is the figure wearing and how can I use him on my layout?

The figure is wearing a short working-style jacket, making him ideal as a railway worker, depot hand, yard staff, or a casual bystander in a station or street scene.

Where are the figures produced and how are they made?

The model is printed in the UK using high-detail resin. Each item is cleaned and cured by hand, so you receive a crisp, ready-to-prime figure with fine surface detail.

How is the item shipped and what is the condition?

The figure is supplied new and dispatched by Royal Mail 2nd Class. It is carefully packed in eco-friendly packaging to protect it in transit while keeping waste to a minimum.

What should I do if my figure arrives with small surface marks or print artefacts?

Because each figure is cleaned and cured by hand, you may find the occasional minor artefact. These can usually be removed with gentle sanding or scraping using fine sanding sticks or a sharp hobby knife. Always work slowly so you don’t damage the surrounding detail.

My figure arrived broken in the post. What should I do?

If the piece has clearly been damaged in transit, please take clear photos of the damage and the packaging as soon as possible. Contact the seller with these images and they will review the situation and see what can be done to put things right.

The resin feels delicate. Is this normal?

Yes, high-detail resin allows for fine features but can be quite delicate, especially around thin parts. Handle the figure gently, avoid dropping it, and support fragile areas when working on it. The seller cannot be responsible for breakages after safe delivery.

The figure doesn’t stand securely on my layout. How can I fix this?

If the base of the feet is slightly uneven, carefully sand the bottoms of the shoes on fine sandpaper laid flat on a hard surface until the figure stands level. You can also glue the figure to a small base or directly to your layout for extra stability.

What if I notice small bubbles or pinholes before painting?

Minor pinholes can be filled with a tiny amount of modelling putty or thick primer. Once dry, gently sand smooth with fine-grit paper before applying your main primer coat.

Do I need to wash the figure before priming?

The figures are cleaned and cured by hand, so they are generally ready to prime. If you prefer, you can give the figure a quick rinse in lukewarm water with a drop of mild detergent, then allow it to dry fully before priming. Avoid very hot water, which can warp resin.

Which primers work best on this resin figure?

The figure can be primed with Halfords grey primer or Tamiya Fine Surface Primer, as recommended. Apply in several light coats rather than one heavy coat to preserve the fine detail.

What type of paints should I use?

Acrylic paints are recommended for finishing the figure. They adhere well to a properly primed surface, dry quickly, and are easy to thin and clean up, making them ideal for detailed figure work.

Do I need to do any preparation before priming?

Check the figure under good light for any small mould lines or support marks. If you find any, gently remove them with a sharp hobby knife or fine sanding sticks. Once you’re happy with the surface, you can move straight on to priming.

Any tips for painting this figure to look realistic?

Work in thin layers and build up colour gradually. Many modellers find it helpful to:

  • Start with a neutral grey or off-white primer.
  • Block in basic colours for skin, clothing, and shoes.
  • Add shadows with slightly darker tones in folds and recesses.
  • Highlight raised areas with lighter shades to bring out detail.

Take your time, and let each layer dry before adding the next.

Is this product suitable for children?

No. These items are not toys and are not suitable for minors. They contain small parts and can pose a choking hazard, and the resin material is intended for adult hobbyists.

Is the packaging environmentally friendly?

Yes. The exterior packaging is made in part from recycled materials and is fully recyclable. The interior packing materials are acid-free and made from 99% recycled pulp fibres, so you can enjoy your models with a lighter environmental footprint.
