Troubleshooting & Safety FAQs
My figure arrived damaged in the post, what should I do?
If your figure appears to have been damaged in transit, please take clear photos of the damage and the packaging and contact us. We cannot be responsible for damage after safe delivery, but if it has broken in the post we will do our best to help put things right.
The resin looks delicate; how should I handle it?
Resin can be quite fragile, especially around finer details. Handle the figure gently, avoid dropping it, and support thinner parts when working on it to reduce the risk of breakage.
There are small marks or lines on the figure, is this normal?
Minor surface marks or faint layer lines can occur with resin printing. These can usually be smoothed with light sanding or scraping during your normal finishing process before priming and painting.
Is this figure safe for children?
No. These figures are not toys and are not suitable for minors. They contain small parts and can pose a choking hazard, so they should be kept out of reach of children.
What if a part breaks after I’ve started working on it?
Once the item has arrived safely, we cannot be held responsible for accidental damage such as drops or mishandling. However, simple breaks can often be repaired with a suitable model resin or cyanoacrylate (super) glue and careful re-finishing.
Assembly & Painting FAQs
Does the figure come painted?
No, the figure is supplied unpainted so you can finish it to match your own locomotives, rolling stock, and layout colour schemes.
Do I need to do any preparation before painting?
All items are cleaned and cured by hand, but the figure may require some minor finishing such as light sanding, scraping, or filling of small imperfections before you apply primer and paint.
Which primers work well on this resin?
The figure can be primed with Halfords grey primer or Tamiya Fine Surface Primer. Apply in thin, even coats and allow to dry fully before painting.
Can I modify or reposition the figure?
The figure is printed as a fixed pose, but experienced modellers can carefully trim, cut, or re-position parts using standard modelling tools. Take extra care, as resin is delicate and can snap if stressed.
Any tips for painting a realistic driver or yard worker?
After priming, build up thin layers of acrylic or enamel paints. For a driver or yard worker, muted workwear colours, weathered boots, and subtle shading around folds and facial features help bring out the realistic 3D-scanned pose and detail.
