The model is printed here in the UK using high-detail resin. The model is supplied unpainted and can be primed with Halfords grey primer or Tamiya fine surface primer.

All items are cleaned and cured by hand, and the figures may require some minor finishing if needed before painting. The condition is new and they are dispatched by Royal Mail 2nd class.

Our packaging is eco-friendly, the exterior packaging is made in part from recycled materials and is fully recyclable. The interior packing materials are acid-free and made from 99% recycled pulp fibers.

Please bear in mind that resin can be quite delicate, so try to avoid dropping your parts! Unfortunately, we can't be held responsible for breakages once your item has arrived. However, if the piece is broken in the post, please provide images, and we will see what we can do to help make things right.

Needless to say, these items are not toys and are not suitable for minors as they could be a choking hazard because of small parts.

FAQ – Product FAQs

General Product FAQs

What exactly is this figure?

This is an unpainted G-Scale (1:22.5) resin figure, approximately 75mm tall, 3D scanned from a real person for realistic looks and poses. He is holding a manual and looking suitably perplexed, ideal as a health and safety inspector or someone investigating a problem with a train.

Which model railway scales is this figure suitable for?

The figure is designed for G-Scale at 1:22.5, the same scale used by brands such as LGB and Bachmann’s G-Scale ranges.

Is the figure supplied painted?

No, the figure is supplied unpainted so you can finish it in your own colours to match your layout or scene.

Where is the figure made and how is it printed?

The model is printed in the UK using high-detail resin. Each item is cleaned and cured by hand before being packed and dispatched.

Is this suitable for children?

No, these items are not toys and are not suitable for minors. They contain small parts and can pose a choking hazard.

Is this an officially licensed product?

Yes, the figure is sold under a commercial license from Design Scan Print 3D.

Troubleshooting FAQs

My figure arrived broken, what should I do?

If your figure appears to have been damaged in the post, please take clear photos of the damage and the packaging, then contact us. We cannot be responsible for breakages after safe delivery, but if it was damaged in transit we will do what we can to help make things right.

The resin looks delicate, how should I handle it?

Resin can be quite delicate, especially around thinner details. Handle the figure gently, avoid dropping it, and support smaller parts when working on or transporting the model.

There are small marks or lines on the figure, is this normal?

Because each item is 3D printed, cleaned, and cured by hand, you may see minor surface marks or print lines. These are normal and can usually be smoothed or filled during your finishing process before painting.

What if the figure does not stand correctly on my layout?

As with many resin figures, a little preparation may be needed. You can gently sand the base to make it flat, or fix the figure to a small base of your choice that suits your layout.

Can I leave the figure unpainted on my layout?

You can, but bare resin may not look as realistic and can be more vulnerable to handling and light over time. Priming and painting will usually give a better finish and added protection.

Assembly & Painting FAQs

Does the figure require assembly?

The figure is supplied as a single resin piece, so no major assembly is usually needed. However, some very minor finishing work may be required before painting.

Do I need to do any preparation before painting?

All items are cleaned and cured by hand, but we recommend checking for any small supports or rough spots and gently smoothing them if needed. Make sure the figure is free from dust before priming.

Which primer should I use on this figure?

The model can be primed with Halfords grey primer or Tamiya fine surface primer. Both work well on this high-detail resin and give a good surface for your paints to adhere to.

What kind of paints work best on this resin?

Once primed with a suitable primer such as Halfords grey or Tamiya fine surface primer, most hobby acrylic or enamel model paints will work well. Use thin coats to preserve the fine scanned detail.

Any tips for painting this particular character?

As he is ideal as a health and safety inspector or fault-finding staff member, you might choose high-visibility or workwear colours to match your railway company. Pick out the manual he is holding in a contrasting colour so it stands out in your scene.
