Product FAQ – Covert AirTag Case
What exactly is this product?
This is a covert case designed to house an Apple AirTag so you can discreetly mount it on your motorbike or car. The case is shaped to pass casual inspection and avoid drawing attention from anyone looking for alarms or trackers.
Does the case include an AirTag or bolts?
No, the case is supplied on its own. You will need to provide your own Apple AirTag and any bolts or fixings you wish to use. Any AirTag shown in photos is for illustration only.
What material is the case made from?
The case is resin printed in ABS. Each item is cleaned and cured by hand, ready for you to prime and paint if you wish.
Where is the case made and shipped from?
We are a UK outfit and everything is made and shipped from the UK. Orders are dispatched via Royal Mail.
Is the packaging environmentally friendly?
Yes. The exterior packaging is made in part from recycled materials and is fully recyclable. The interior packing materials are acid-free and made from 99% recycled pulp fibres.
Is the case supplied painted?
No, the case comes unpainted. This lets you finish it to suit your vehicle and surroundings for maximum stealth.
How do I attach the case to my motorbike or car?
You can fix the case using strong double-sided tape (number plate tape works well) or by bolting it down. Make sure the surface is clean and dry before fitting, and position it where it will not interfere with moving parts.
Will the AirTag still work when it’s inside the case?
Yes. The case is designed so the AirTag can still communicate with nearby iPhones (and some Android devices) as normal, allowing you to track your vehicle locally and across the country via the Find My network.
How long will the AirTag battery last in the case?
The AirTag battery typically lasts around a year under normal use. You can monitor the battery level on your iPhone and replace it when needed.
Can I still use the AirTag’s internal speaker?
Yes. When you are near your vehicle, you can activate the AirTag’s internal speaker from your phone to help you locate it. The case does not block this function, though the sound may be slightly muffled compared to a bare AirTag.
Is this case only for motorbikes and cars?
It is designed with motorbikes and cars in mind, but you can use it anywhere you want a discreet AirTag mount, as long as you can securely tape or bolt it in place.
Does the case make the AirTag completely undetectable?
The case is intended to pass casual inspection and avoid drawing attention. A determined search or someone specifically looking for trackers may still find it, so placement and finishing are important.
The AirTag isn’t updating its location. What should I check?
First, make sure the AirTag battery is not low and that it is correctly registered in your Apple account. Then check that the case is not buried under metal or placed where signals are heavily blocked. Finally, remember that updates depend on nearby devices passing within range.
I can’t hear the AirTag sound clearly. Is something wrong?
The case may slightly muffle the sound, especially if it’s tightly enclosed or covered in mud or thick paint. Try testing the sound with the case open or with less material covering it to compare.
The case doesn’t seem to fit my AirTag properly. What can I do?
Ensure the AirTag is oriented correctly and fully seated in the recess. If there are any small print marks or rough spots, a light sand with fine paper can help the AirTag sit flush.
The double-sided tape won’t stick well. Any tips?
Clean both the case and the mounting surface with a degreaser or isopropyl alcohol, let them dry fully, and then apply fresh high-quality automotive or number plate tape. Avoid dusty, oily, or textured surfaces where possible.
The surface of the case looks slightly rough. Is that normal?
Yes. We do our very best to remove support marks, but some fine sanding may be required before priming and painting to achieve a perfectly smooth finish.
Do I need to do any preparation before painting?
For best results, lightly sand the case to remove any remaining support marks, then clean off dust. Apply a suitable plastic or ABS-compatible primer before your top coat to help the paint adhere and last longer.
What kind of paint should I use on the case?
Use paints that are suitable for plastic or ABS, such as automotive aerosol paints or hobby acrylics designed for plastics. Always follow the paint manufacturer’s instructions for priming and curing times.
How can I make the case as stealthy as possible?
Paint it to match the surrounding area on your vehicle, or cover it with road grime or mud so it blends in with the underside or wheel arch. Avoid bright colours or glossy finishes if you want it to disappear at a glance.
Can I leave the case unpainted?
Yes, you can use it unpainted straight away. Painting is optional, but a coat of paint or a bit of dirt can help it blend in better and offer a little extra protection from the elements.
Do I need to disassemble the case to change the AirTag battery?
You will need to remove the AirTag from the case to change its battery. When you design your mounting position, allow enough access so you can unbolt or unstick the case and open it when the battery needs replacing.
