All items are cleaned and cured by hand, and the figures may require some minor finishing if needed before painting. The condition is new and they are dispatched by Royal Mail 2nd class.

Our packaging is Eco friendly, the exterior packing is made in part from Recycled Materials and is fully recyclable, the interior packing materials are acid free and made from 99% recycled pulp fibres.

Please do bear in mind that resin can be quite delicate so try to avoid dropping your parts! Sadly, we cant be held responsible for breakages once your item has arrived. However, if the piece is broken in the post, please provide images and we will see what we can do to help to make things good.

Needless to say these items are not toys and are not suitable for minors as they could be a choking hazard because of small parts.

FAQ – Product FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is this figure?

This is an unpainted, high-detail resin figure of a woman with a walking stick. She has been 3D scanned from a real person to capture realistic proportions, facial features and a natural pose, making her ideal for adding life to your G-scale layout or diorama.

What scale and size is the figure?

The figure is G-Scale 1:22 (the same scale used by LGB, Bachmann and similar brands) and is approximately 75mm tall. This makes her well suited to garden railways and larger indoor layouts.

Is the figure supplied painted?

No, the figure is supplied unpainted so you can finish her to match your own layout, era and style. A light primer coat is recommended before adding colour.

Where is the figure made and how is it produced?

The model is printed in the UK using high detail resin. Each figure is cleaned and cured by hand to bring out the fine details captured by the 3D scan.

Is this suitable for children?

No. These figures are not toys and are not suitable for minors. They contain small parts and can be a choking hazard. They are intended for adult model makers and collectors.

How is the figure packaged and shipped?

The figure is dispatched by Royal Mail 2nd Class. Packaging is eco friendly: the outer packing is made in part from recycled materials and is fully recyclable, while the inner packing is acid free and made from 99% recycled pulp fibres to protect the model in transit.

What primer should I use on the figure?

The figure can be primed with Halfords grey primer or Tamiya Fine Surface Primer, both of which give a smooth base for painting. Apply light, even coats to avoid obscuring the fine detail.

Do I need to do any preparation before painting?

All items are cleaned and cured by hand, but you may wish to carry out some minor finishing before painting. This can include gently removing any tiny nubs, smoothing faint lines, and checking that the surface is clean and dust free so the primer adheres well.

What type of paints work best on this resin figure?

Once primed with a suitable primer such as Halfords grey or Tamiya Fine Surface Primer, you can use your preferred model paints. Many modellers use acrylics for ease of use and quick drying, but enamel paints can also be used over a properly cured primer layer.

How should I handle the figure while painting?

Because resin can be delicate, it is best to mount the figure on a temporary base, cork or holder while painting. This keeps fingerprints off the surface, reduces the risk of dropping the model and makes it easier to reach all areas with your brush or airbrush.

Can I modify or convert the figure?

The high detail resin can be gently sanded or carefully cut if you wish to make minor conversions, such as adjusting the base or adding accessories from your spares box. Work slowly and support the part well, as resin is more brittle than plastic.

How can I protect the paintwork once finished?

After your paint has fully cured, you may wish to apply a clear varnish suitable for model work. This helps protect the finish from handling and dust. Choose matte, satin or gloss depending on the look you want for your layout or display.

What should I do if the figure arrives broken?

If the figure appears to have been damaged in the post, please take clear photos of the packaging and the broken parts as soon as you open it. Contact us with these images and we will see what we can do to help put things right.

The resin looks slightly rough in places. Is that normal?

Minor surface texture or tiny marks can occasionally appear with high detail resin printing, even after hand cleaning and curing. These are usually easy to tidy with a light sand using fine abrasive pads or careful scraping with a sharp hobby blade before priming.

The figure seems slightly bent or warped. Can I fix it?

Very slight bends can sometimes be carefully corrected by gently warming the area in warm (not boiling) water, then straightening and holding it in place while it cools. Always test cautiously and avoid excessive force, as resin can snap if overstressed.

What if the primer does not seem to stick well?

If primer beads or fails to adhere, the surface may have dust or skin oils on it. Gently wash the figure in lukewarm water with a tiny amount of mild detergent, rinse thoroughly, allow it to dry completely and then reapply light coats of your chosen primer.

Can I repair a small break myself?

Small breaks, such as a walking stick or limb, can often be repaired using a suitable modelling glue for resin. Dry fit the parts first, use only a small amount of adhesive and support the joint while it cures. Work slowly to preserve the fine detail.

How fragile is the resin, and how should I handle it?

Resin can be quite delicate, especially at thinner areas like the walking stick or fingers. Try to avoid dropping or flexing the figure. Handle it by the sturdier parts of the body and base, and store it in a padded container when not on the layout.

Do I need any special tools to assemble this figure?

This particular figure is supplied as a single piece, so no complex assembly is required. You will mainly need basic hobby tools for finishing, such as a fine file or sanding stick, a sharp hobby knife and tweezers for handling during painting.

How should I prepare the surface before priming?

Inspect the figure under good light. If you spot any tiny support marks or seams, gently smooth them with fine abrasive tools. After that, lightly wash the figure in lukewarm water with a small amount of mild detergent, rinse well and allow it to dry fully before applying primer.

Any tips for painting realistic clothing and skin tones?

For G-scale figures, subtle shading makes a big difference. After your base colours, add slightly darker tones in folds and recesses and lighter tones on raised areas. Thin your paints so they flow smoothly and build up colour in layers rather than trying to cover in one coat.

How can I mount the figure on my layout?

You can attach the figure to your baseboard, platform or scene using a small amount of suitable glue. Some modellers drill tiny holes in the feet and insert pins or wire into the base for extra strength, especially on garden railways where figures may be moved for maintenance.

Is this figure licensed properly?

Yes, the figure is sold under commercial license from Design Scan Print 3D, ensuring that the original 3D scan and design are used with permission.
