FAQ – Product FAQs
What scale and use is this wagon designed for?
This wagon is built specifically for GN15 layouts and is ideal for moving rocks and heavy minerals on narrow gauge mining or industrial scenes.
What parts are included in the kit?
Your order includes four grey resin-printed pieces: one bogie frame, two coupling blocks, and one heavy duty mining wagon body. If you choose the wheel option, you also receive two sets of 12.5 mm diameter wheels.
Are wheels included with the wagon?
Wheels are optional. You can choose to buy the kit with two sets of 12.5 mm diameter wheels, or without wheelsets if you already have suitable wheels of your own.
Is the wagon pre-assembled?
No, the wagon comes unassembled. All parts are supplied as separate resin pieces, ready for you to assemble, prime, and paint.
Is the model pre-painted or primed?
All pieces come unprimed and unpainted. They are cleaned and cured by hand and supplied in grey resin, ready for you to prime and paint in your own colour scheme.
What makes this wagon suitable for heavy loads?
The wagon features a reinforced structure, banding on the top, and a slightly longer length to help your GN15 operation move rock and mineral loads more easily and reliably.
My wagon arrived with small marks or lines on the surface. Is this normal?
Yes. We do our very best to remove support marks from the resin prints, but some fine sanding may still be required. Lightly sanding and then priming will usually make these marks disappear.
The wheels feel tight and don’t roll freely. What should I check?
First, ensure the wheelsets are fully seated in the bogie frame and that no small bits of cured resin are obstructing the axle points. A gentle clean of the axle sockets and a very small amount of easing with a fine file can help, taking care not to remove too much material.
One of the parts arrived broken in the post. What can I do?
If the piece appears to have been damaged in transit, please take clear photos of the damage and packaging and contact the seller. They will review the images and see what can be done to help.
A part snapped while I was handling it. Is this covered?
Resin can be quite delicate and is more brittle than plastic. Breakages that occur after delivery while handling or assembly are not something we can be responsible for, so please handle parts gently and avoid dropping them.
The parts don’t seem to fit together perfectly. How can I improve the fit?
Minor variations are normal with resin prints. Test-fit all parts first, then use fine sandpaper or a small file to gently adjust mating surfaces until they sit square and true before gluing.
How should I assemble the wagon parts?
Dry-fit everything first, then assemble in stages: attach the coupling blocks to the wagon body, fit the bogie frame, and finally install the wheelsets if you have chosen the wheel option. Allow each glued joint to set before moving to the next.
Do I need to do any surface preparation before painting?
Although the parts are cleaned and cured by hand, it is good practice to give them a quick wash in mild soapy water, let them dry thoroughly, and lightly sand any remaining support marks before priming.
What type of glue should I use on the resin parts?
Use a good quality adhesive suitable for resin, such as cyanoacrylate (super glue). Apply sparingly, as small joints bond quickly and excess glue can obscure fine detail.
How should I prime and paint the wagon?
After cleaning and light sanding, apply a suitable primer for resin models in thin coats, then build up your chosen colours in layers. Weathering with washes and dry-brushing can really bring out the reinforced structure and banding detail on a GN15 mining wagon.
