What scale and size is the figure?

The figure is G-Scale 1:22.5 and is approximately 74mm tall. This is similar in scale to popular G-Scale ranges such as LGB and Bachmann.

Is the figure supplied painted?

No, the figure is supplied unpainted. It is intended for hobbyists and model railway makers who enjoy priming and painting their own figures.

The figure is printed in the UK using high detail resin. Resin allows for very fine surface detail, ideal for realistic model railway scenes.

Troubleshooting FAQs

My figure arrived broken, what should I do?

If the figure appears to have been damaged in the post, please take clear photos of the damage and the packaging and get in touch. While we cannot be responsible for breakages after safe delivery, we will see what we can do to help make things good when damage occurs in transit.

The resin looks delicate; how should I handle it?

Resin can be quite delicate, especially around thinner parts. Handle the figure gently, avoid dropping it, and support smaller details when working on it. Always work over a soft surface if possible.

There are small marks or lines on the surface, is this normal?

All items are cleaned and cured by hand, but minor surface imperfections can sometimes occur. These can usually be removed with light sanding or careful scraping before priming and painting.

My primer is not going on smoothly, what could be wrong?

Ensure the figure is free from dust and fingerprints before priming. Shake the primer well and apply several light coats rather than one heavy coat. Suitable primers include Halfords grey primer and Tamiya fine surface primer.

The figure does not seem to stand securely, how can I fix this?

If the base or feet are slightly uneven, you can gently sand the underside on a flat surface until it sits more securely. Many modellers also fix the figure to a layout or base using a small amount of suitable glue.

Assembly & Painting FAQs

Does the figure require assembly?

The figure is supplied as a single resin piece, so there is no complex assembly. However, it may require some minor finishing such as light sanding or trimming before painting.

How should I prepare the figure before painting?

Before painting, check for any small mould lines or support marks and gently remove them if needed. Then ensure the figure is clean and dry, and apply a suitable primer such as Halfords grey primer or Tamiya fine surface primer.

Which primer should I use?

We recommend using either Halfords grey primer or Tamiya fine surface primer. Both give a good key for paint and help reveal any areas that might need a little extra finishing work.

Can I use my usual model paints on this figure?

Once the figure is properly primed, most hobby model paints designed for miniatures and models will work well. Choose paints you are comfortable with and apply in thin layers to preserve the fine detail.

Do I need to do any finishing after curing?

All figures are cleaned and cured by hand, but some minor finishing may still be helpful. This can include:

  • Lightly sanding any rough spots
  • Carefully trimming tiny nibs or support marks
  • Checking fit on your layout or base before final painting
