All items are cleaned and cured by hand, and the figures may require some minor finishing if needed before painting. The condition is new and they are dispatched by Royal Mail 2nd class.

Our packaging is Eco friendly, the exterior packing is made in part from Recycled Materials and is fully recyclable, the interior packing materials are acid free and made from 99% recycled pulp fibres.

Please do bear in mind that resin can be quite delicate so try to avoid dropping your parts! Sadly, we cant be held responsible for breakages once your item has arrived. However, if the piece is broken in the post, please provide images and we will see what we can do to help to make things good.

Needless to say these items are not toys and are not suitable for minors as they could be a choking hazard because of small parts.

FAQ – Product FAQs

General Product FAQs

What scale is this driver figure?

The driver is G-Scale 1:22 and stands at approximately 56 mm tall, making him ideal for layouts that use LGB, Bachmann and similar G-scale stock.

What is this figure suitable for on my layout?

This figure is designed to be used as a driver, either mounted in a cab or standing around in the yard. The realistic pose comes from being 3D scanned from a real person, so he looks right at home in a working scene.

What material is the figure made from?

The figure is printed in the UK using high detail resin. This allows for very fine surface detail that really comes to life once painted.

Is the figure supplied painted?

No, the figure is supplied unpainted. This lets you paint him to match your own railway company colours, era and weathering style.

How is the figure packaged and shipped?

The figure is dispatched by Royal Mail 2nd Class. The packaging is eco friendly: the outer packing is made in part from recycled materials and is fully recyclable, and the interior packing is acid free and made from 99% recycled pulp fibres.

Is this product suitable for children?

No, these items are not toys and are not suitable for minors. They contain small parts and can be a choking hazard, so they are intended for adult modellers only.

Troubleshooting FAQs

My figure arrived broken in the post, what should I do?

If your figure is damaged during delivery, please take clear photos of the damage and the packaging and get in touch. While we cannot be responsible for breakages after arrival, we will always see what we can do to help make things good when damage occurs in transit.

The resin looks slightly rough in places, is this normal?

All items are cleaned and cured by hand, and some figures may need minor finishing before painting. A light tidy with fine abrasive pads or careful scraping with a hobby knife on mould lines or tiny nubs is quite normal for high-detail resin figures.

Parts feel delicate and I am worried about handling them.

Resin can be quite delicate, especially at thin areas like hands, arms and small details. Handle the figure by the more solid parts of the body, avoid bending thin sections and try not to drop it. Taking care during assembly and painting will greatly reduce the risk of breakage.

The figure does not sit quite right where I want to place it.

Because the figure is 3D scanned from a real person, the pose is very natural. To make him sit or stand perfectly in a specific spot, you may need to lightly sand or file the base of the feet or the underside where he will be mounted so he matches your cab floor or yard surface.

There is a slight residue on the surface, can I paint over it?

The models are cleaned and cured by hand, but if you notice any residue or glossy patches, it is best to give the figure a gentle wash in lukewarm water with a drop of mild detergent, rinse well and let it dry completely before priming. This helps the primer and paint adhere properly.

Assembly & Painting FAQs

Do I need to assemble the figure, or is it one piece?

The driver is supplied as a resin figure ready for minor finishing if needed. Any work you do is usually limited to light cleanup and preparing him to fit your chosen location on the layout.

What primer should I use on this resin figure?

The figure can be primed with Halfords grey primer or Tamiya Fine Surface Primer, both of which work very well on this high detail resin. Apply in light coats to avoid obscuring details.

How should I prepare the figure before priming?

Inspect the figure for any tiny support marks or mould lines and remove them gently. Then wash the figure in lukewarm water with a little mild detergent, rinse thoroughly and allow it to dry completely before applying primer.

What type of paints work best on this model?

Once primed with a suitable primer such as Halfords grey or Tamiya Fine Surface Primer, most hobby acrylic or enamel paints designed for miniatures and models will work well. Use thin layers to preserve the fine details captured by the 3D scan.

Any tips for painting realistic details on a 56 mm driver?

At this larger G-scale size, small touches make a big difference. You may find it helpful to:

  • Block in basic clothing colours first, then add shading and highlights.
  • Use a fine brush for facial features, buttons and pockets.
  • Add subtle weathering to clothing to match a working yard environment.
  • Test colours on a spare piece or hidden area before committing to the whole figure.
These steps help bring out the realistic pose and scanned detail of the figure.
