Product details
Our pre-made trees offer more than just convenience—they are crafted with wire armatures, not plastic, so you can bend and pose them in any angle you like, making them fully customizable to fit your scene perfectly.
Splendid looking and an easy way to quickly add depth and interest to your layout. As they are not using molded plastic armatures, every tree is different too, and on average they are around 100mm to 110mm and look good on layouts from OO9 to NG7
These trees come flat-packed for easy shipping, and all you need to do is gently tease the branches into shape to achieve the desired look. This is something easy to do because of the wire armatures that are used. (see the last pictures as to how they will be shipped)
You can add to the synthetic foliage with scatter materials for extra realism and paint the trunks too if you want.
The listing is for one tree, so you can choose as many as you want. The acrylic base is just used for filming and not included. Just add more to your basket to take advantage of the combined postage

FAQ – Product FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly is included when I order one tree?
The listing is for a single pre-made tree with a wire armature and synthetic foliage. No base is included; the acrylic base shown in some photos is only for filming and display. Simply add more trees to your basket if you need a small woodland or a full forest.
What size are the trees, and which scales do they suit?
Each tree is approximately 100mm to 110mm tall. They look good on layouts from OO9 to NG7 and work nicely as small to medium-sized trees in those scales.
Are all the trees identical?
No, every tree is slightly different. Because they are made with wire armatures rather than molded plastic, each one has its own natural variation in shape and branch structure, which helps avoid that “cloned tree” look on your layout.
Can I pose or reshape the trees?
Yes. The trunks and branches use wire armatures, so you can gently bend and pose them into almost any angle you like. This lets you create windswept trees, leaning trees near embankments, or more upright forms for formal settings.
How are the trees packaged for shipping?
The trees are shipped flat-packed to keep them safe and to reduce postage costs. When they arrive, the branches will need to be teased out and shaped. This is quick and easy to do thanks to the flexible wire armature.
Do you offer combined postage if I buy several trees?
Yes. Just add as many trees as you like to your basket, and you can take advantage of combined postage where available. This is a great way to build up a small copse or a full forest scene economically.
My tree looks very flat straight out of the packet. Is that normal?
Yes, that is completely normal. The trees are intentionally shipped flat-packed. Simply use your fingers to gently pull the branches away from the trunk and fan them out until you get the fullness and shape you want.
The branches feel stiff. How can I bend them safely?
Work slowly and gently. Hold the trunk firmly with one hand and bend the branches with the other, a little at a time. Avoid sharp, sudden bends; instead, create smooth curves. The wire armature allows gradual reshaping without stressing the tree.
Some foliage has shifted in transit. What should I do?
Minor movement of the synthetic foliage can happen during shipping. Usually, you can fix this by:
- Teasing the foliage back into place with your fingers.
- Fluffing out any compressed areas.
- Adding a little scatter material if you want to fill any thin spots.
My tree seems a bit sparse. Can I make it look fuller?
Yes. You can add extra foliage using scatter materials. Lightly apply a suitable adhesive to the existing foliage or branches, then sprinkle on your chosen scatter to build up density. This lets you match the tree to the rest of your layout’s vegetation.
The tree doesn’t stand up on its own. Is that a fault?
No, that is expected. The acrylic base shown in photos is not included and is only for filming. These trees are designed to be fixed to your own layout baseboard, scenic foam, or a base of your choice using glue, pins, or your preferred mounting method.
How do I assemble the tree after it arrives flat-packed?
There is no complex assembly required, just shaping. To get it ready for your layout:
- Carefully remove the tree from its packaging.
- Hold the trunk and gently pull the branches outward.
- Rotate the tree as you go so it fills out evenly.
- Fine-tune individual branches for a natural look.
What is the best way to shape the branches for realism?
Avoid perfect symmetry. Real trees have irregular spacing and a bit of randomness. Try:
- Bending some branches slightly downwards, especially lower ones.
- Leaning the whole tree a touch to one side for a windswept effect.
- Creating small gaps in the canopy so light can “shine through.”
Can I paint the trunks and branches?
Yes, you can paint the trunks and branches if you wish. Acrylic paints work well and let you add bark texture, colour variation, and weathering. Apply thin coats so you do not clog the foliage or lose the fine branch detail.
How do I add scatter materials or extra foliage?
To add scatter for extra realism:
- Mask off areas you do not want covered.
- Lightly apply a suitable adhesive to the foliage or branch tips.
- Sprinkle your chosen scatter over a tray to catch excess.
- Tap gently to remove loose material and let it dry fully.
Do I need any special tools or skills to work with these trees?
No special tools are required. Most modellers shape them by hand. A pair of small pliers can help with very fine adjustments, but they are not essential. The trees are designed so that beginners can use them easily, while experienced modellers can still customise them in detail.
